Embarrassing Petty Pennies

I returned some children's books today that I checked out from the Logan Library for a lesson I gave a few weeks ago. While I was out-and-about I did some other errands. One was trying to get some more laundry money. I stopped by the bank in town and just drove through the drive up window. My check was for 12.99. I wanted to get cash back but I didn’t really want to get 99 cents back so I paper clipped a penny with my slip and check. The lady smiled when she saw but tried to hide the disbelief on her face. When she was processing it she told me that she had thought that I just found a penny and wanted to deposit it but then realized there was a check with the slip and the penny was to round it up to $13. I laughed and agreed that I didn’t really want to deal with just 99 cents. As I am saying this the arm is extending towards my car but when it opened there was no cash in it, just a deposit slip. She had gone through all of that with the penny just for me to deposit it all. I was somewhat embarrassed and didn’t want to explain that I had wanted cash back so I just smiled awkwardly and drove home, still a bit bewildered.

Stir Crazy!

I allowed myself to take a few nights to socialize and enjoy life which didn't put me behind..but almost. I completed my assignments on their respective due dates, which normally isn't a big deal. This semester, however, I only attend each class once a week (for 3 hours a piece) so it means that I postponed my homework a whole week. My goal is to get to the point that I do my homework for my classes that day right after I have them. I think I would have quite a lot of time to do the things I would like to do and would have my assignments completely done. It has been difficult trying to get caught up though. I was in the education building or the library from 8:30am-7:00pm all except 45min on my lunch break in the institute building for a devotional and a few minutes walk around campus after my last class of the day.
I still have more homework tonight but I am cannot concentrate any more. Six hours of class and now homework all night I just needed a break! It doesn't help that blackboard keeps crashing on me so I can't do some of my assignments. I haven't finished what I need to yet but I might just call it a day.
Besides the confinement and sitting I LOVE my major and life right now! :) What an amazing thing it is to get to go to school and to be around such incredible people!

Family Reunions

So I am always months behind from when i post things from when they happened but we had two family reunions this summer. One was the Hayden's up at our pond. We had a lot of fun with our large, loving family! :) My great-uncle Russell was even able to make it. The second reunion was in Downey. We were going to go to Island Park but because a lot of different factors we camped out in my grandparent's yard. It was such a fun idea! I think it was one of my favorite things we have done, maybe because it was so simple but fantastic at the same time! Our theme was on synergy. (That's when more energy is produced because of unity. For example two horses can pull more weight when they are pulling together than what is possible for if you multiplied what one horse could do by 2.) We had team shirts made so each family had their own color but the player numbers on the shirts were based on when you entered the family. My grandparents were both 00, my Mom was 02, and so on. It is fun to know that I was 10th, they even printed a onesie for Madison with 39 on it. :)

We played to corn-hole game A LOT and had a ton of fun!

We also had family come from Wisconsin. I love Elton-John's accent and laugh, they are priceless!
Here is a picture of most of the group...yes Austin is the one alluding the picture with his back to me.
Ha! "Cousling" I got your face in this one. :)
I think that Austin really does like getting his picture taken and that is way he fulls funny posses is so then you have to take more than just one trying to get a good one.
